Five days later and still no justice…
Diamond Reynolds had the unbelievable misfortune of recording her boyfriend’s death last week, but she and Philando Castile‘s friends and family sure are lucky she did.
That’s because lawyers for Jeronimo Yanez — the man who shot and killed the 32-year-old cafeteria worker for having a “wide nose” on Wednesday — are trying to say he was simply reacting to “the presence of [a] gun.”

Luckily, the mother-of-one streamed Philando’s death on Facebook Live, which not only proves that Phil did NOT have a gun in his hands when he was shot, it makes her series of events pretty difficult for Minnesota police to refute.
For some reason or other (i.e. racism), the St. Anthony Police Department has yet to formally charge Jeronimo for Philando’s death, so Diamond and her attorney stopped by MSNBC on Monday to share her side of the story with Tamron Hall in her first official sit-down with the press.
We cannot imagine what was going through Diamond’s mind when she realized “it was gonna be law enforcement’s word over [hers]”, but we applaud her for being so brave!
