Pima County Sheriff Shares His Take On New Nancy Guthrie Ransom Note -- Does He Believe It Or Not??

The Pima County Sheriff, Chris Nanos, is sharing his take on that new Nancy Guthrie ransom note!

Last Friday, TMZ received a new message from a person claiming to have information about Nancy’s kidnapper. In fact, they don’t just have information — they alleged they have a video of the 84-year-old with her abductors, which is stored on a phone hidden in a secure location. They’re ready to expose the criminals for Bitcoin.

TMZ‘s sent the letter off to the FBI, and so far, there’s no clarity on whether it’s real or not, though the government agency is taking it seriously, as they have with other previous messages.

So, what about the controversial Sheriff? What does he think?

He appeared on Arizona radio station KVOI AM 1030‘s Buckmaster Show on Friday, and he actually shared his thoughts on TMZ‘s reporting. Nanos said there’d been two new notes that day, he dished:

“I think the FBI has done a number of arrests for false or fake ransom notes. It’s a shame that that happens, but I think we’re looking at another one of those today with what’s been reported. But we’ll let the FBI do their work.”

Oof.

He noted the FBI are the ones handling “all the ransom notes” in the case. So, ultimately, we guess it doesn’t really matter what he thinks. He’s not the one with the most information on this side of the investigation.

Nanos went on to add that “it is a shame that these type of events occur,” adding:

“People have great interest, and that’s good because it helps us, but then it gets really gets abused.”

He explained:

“People who call in fake ransom notes, people who claim [false information] for the sake of media and the family, they get out and disturb, in this case, an entire neighborhood.”

That’s a clear dig at livestreamers who have been camped outside Nancy’s Tucson home — some of whom have even been arrested!

Nanos is obviously fed up with the public nature of this investigation. We just hope he and his team are digging up real answers behind the scenes.
