Today Show Bosses Have BANNED Guests From Mentioning Nancy Guthrie!

Today Show bosses have cracked down on what can be said on set!

It’s no secret NBC‘s in a tough spot as they navigate covering Nancy Guthrie‘s disappearance after welcoming back one of their own, Savannah. Just this week, Savannah emotionally sat in the studio as new details of her mother’s disappearance were shared — something that was clearly very difficult to hear! While she’s talked about the apparent kidnapping a few times on air since returning to her job, the chatter has been rare, and that is on purpose!

A production source told Radar Online on Wednesday that the morning show’s execs have demanded that no guest make any comment about Nancy while on set:

“The directive is crystal clear. No matter who the guest is, they’re told not to mention Nancy.”

Another source pointed out the importance of avoiding the subject matter:

Today is built around routine, entertainment and helping viewers start their day. They don’t want every segment overshadowed by a deeply personal family matter.”

And frankly, it’s already hard enough for Savannah to put on a smile and go to work every day. Think about how much more difficult it would be if she were forced to talk about this nightmare every day with guests!

With that said, though, another confidant stressed that the journalist is thankful for the kindness she’s been shown by everyone:

“She appreciates people’s concern. But she doesn’t want sympathy to become part of the broadcast. Her focus is on the show.”

Totally understandable!

Hopefully, behind the scenes, guests are requesting the show’s wishes and not making work more emotional for Savannah!
