As we mentioned last month, the producers of Speed the Plow officially filed a grievance with the Broadway thesps’ union, Actor’s Equity, following Jeremy Piven‘s mercury-induced departure from the show.
Guess they don’t buy into that “mercury poisoning” too much.
Now, Actors├óΓé¼Γäó Equity will finally hold a hearing on February 26th for the grievance filed against Piven by the show’s producers.
Both sides are expected to present their cases in the closed hearing, though we doubt Piven will actually show up. He’ll probably just have his lawyers do it all for him.
A rep for Actors’ Equity said its grievance committee could probably resolve the complaint the same day or in a few more meetings.
Or the two sides could also pursue arbitration.
Either way, someone is going to end up losing!
