Prince Andrew DID Give Speech At Daughter Beatrice's Wedding Amid Underage Sex Scandal!

Prince Andrew speech Princess Beatrice's wedding

The underage sex scandal didn’t stop Prince Andrew from supporting his daughter on her wedding day!

As fans know, Princess Beatrice and Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi tied the knot in a small, secret ceremony on Friday, July 17, at Windsor Great Park in Berkshire England with only 20 guests in attendance.

One of those guests was Bea’s father Andrew, who fully participated in the ceremony and reception amid controversy over his alleged ties to the late sex offender Jeffrey EpsteinA source told Us Weekly:

“[Beatrice] wanted him at the wedding. He walked her down the aisle and did a speech at the reception.”

The source added that while the 31-year-old princess is “standing by her dad” during this crazy time, “she’s absolutely mortified that his name is being dragged through the mud.” But on Friday, Bea was all smiles as she said “I do” in a vintage dress by Norman Hartnell on loan from her grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II

Because of her father’s involvement with the Epstein scandal, which has since caused Andrew to step down from royal duties, Bea decided to keep her wedding photos with the Duke of York “for her personal collection” instead of releasing them to the public.

The source explained:

“The Queen and Bea agreed that it was best not to avoid creating more of a stir by releasing them to the public.”

The royal family did, however, share a few photos of the newlyweds alongside the 94-year-old monarch and her husband Prince Philip on Instagram. See (below):

Despite the bad press and reports that US prosecutors have requested an interview with him, Andrew was reportedly one of the only family members who was asked to take part in Bea’s wedding, which was originally planned for May but postponed due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

While the princess’ immediate family — including mother Sarah Ferguson, sister Princess Eugenie, and brother-in-law Jack Brooksbank — were also in attendance, her royal cousins and cousin-in-laws Prince William, Kate Middleton, Prince Harry, and Meghan Markle did not show up.

Another insider told the outlet:

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry didn’t attend the wedding, but they did call Beatrice beforehand to wish her good luck. Prince William and Duchess Kate also called to congratulate Bea.”

Still sounds like it was quite the celebration!

But looking ahead, Andrew has little to celebrate: a source told the outlet last month that the 60-year-old royal has become “incredibly nervous” after Epstein’s accomplice Ghislaine Maxwell was arrested on July 2, telling the outlet:

“That really scares him.”

In addition to being associated with the sex offender, Andrew was accused of sexual assault in October 2019 by Virginia Roberts, but denied the allegations during a BBC Newsnight interview the following month.

Congrats to the happy couple, though!!
