Spike Lee Hosts A Brooklyn Block Party To Remember Prince: 'Wear Something Purple'

We know that so many celebs were affected by Prince‘s sudden death, but Spike Lee took it especially hard.
The filmmaker has posted multiple times to his Instagram account over the last day as he mourned the superstar’s death, but it’s what he did about it away from social media that is catching everyone’s attention.

On Thursday night, Lee hosted a block party to memorialize the Purple Rain icon, inviting thousands of people to come out to Brooklyn and celebrate the life of a legend, with a very simple request to ‘wear something purple’ (below):


As you might have expected, the block party was a hit — and very emotional.
