Prince Harry Using New Lawsuits To Protect 'His Nest' With Meghan Markle & Baby Archie

Prince Harry is doing his best to protect his wife and son.

Last week, the 35-year-old ripped into British tabloids in a lengthy statement about the “ruthless” attacks on Meghan Markle, announcing he would be pursuing legal action against the Mail on Sunday. Several days later, it emerged Archie Harrison‘s father would also be taking The Sun and The Daily Mirror to court over alleged interception of his cellphone voicemails.

An insider shared with People, explaining (below) about the royal’s reasoning for the impending lawsuits:

“He is looking at ways to protect Meghan and he is worried about Archie. He wants to protect his nest, and this is the only way he can think of doing so.”

Understandable!!

However, was the timing all wrong? Per the publication, some insiders say the lawsuit announcements distracted from the positive work the couple achieved during their 10-day royal tour, where they discussed education and equality, conservation, and more.

Historian Robert Lacey told People:

“This is a separate and private issue that has been willfully introduced and has sabotaged some of the great work they were doing.”

The Duke of Sussex addressed the alleged “relentless” campaigns which his wife has been subject to since joining the royal family in his statement announcing the suit:

“Unfortunately, my wife has become one of the latest victims of a British tabloid press that wages campaigns against individuals with no thought to the consequences – a ruthless campaign that has escalated over the past year, throughout her pregnancy and while raising our newborn son.

There is a human cost to this relentless propaganda, specifically when it is knowingly false and malicious, and though we have continued to put on a brave face – as so many of you can relate to – I cannot begin to describe how painful it has been. Because in today’s digital age, press fabrications are repurposed as truth across the globe. One day’s coverage is no longer tomorrow’s chip-paper.”

This hits all too close to home for Harry, who lost his mother Princess Diana in 1997 after being chased by paparazzi in Paris:

“Though this action may not be the safe one, it is the right one. Because my deepest fear is history repeating itself. I’ve seen what happens when someone I love is commoditised to the point that they are no longer treated or seen as a real person. I lost my mother and now I watch my wife falling victim to the same powerful forces.”
