It was back to work for Prince Harry who jetted off to The Hague, Netherlands just days after his first child, Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor, was born, but family seemed to be all that was on his mind!
According to insiders, the 34-year-old couldn’t help but get sentimental and think of his late mother, Princess Diana, since becoming a father on Monday, and also opened up about how his baby is doing so far.

Dennis van der Stroom, a 31-year-old Dutch veteran, described a conversation to Hello! that he had with the new dad after meeting at an event in support of the 2020 Invictus Games on Thursday:
“I told Harry about my mother and we talked about our shared experience of missing a mum. He said missing a mother is like missing some kind of security, how you need that as a son and it falls away when you lose your mother. He said he meets a lot of people in his work who have lost a mother, father, sister, brother or relatives and when he hears their story, as he heard my story, he said he doesn’t feel so alone.”
So sad!
Van der Stroom added that the Invictus Games founder “talked about how having a small child was his new focus and new goal,” at the presentation. He continued, noting:
“[Harry] said he was just amazed by the miracles in the world, and how his child has made a lot of people happy. He also told me he’s really happy that his son is so far very quiet.”
JJ Chalmers, a former Royal Marine, Invictus Games medalist, and friend of Harry’s, revealed to the UK magazine that the Duke of Sussex described fatherhood so far as “amazing” but “hard work.” No doubt it’s definitely both of those things at the same time, but the proud parents couldn’t be happier:
“He said that [Archie] slept for the first 24 hours like all babies do…and then he woke up. I see the guy with a buzzing smile on his face still. Like any father he lights up even more when he speaks about his son and how proud he is of his wife and what she’s doing right now in his absence.”
Awww!!
At Archie’s first appearance two days after birth with Meghan Markle, his daddy spoke while holding his son:
“Everyone says babies change so much over two weeks. We’re basically monitoring how the changing process happens over this next month, really. His looks are changing every single day, so who knows? It’s great. Parenting is amazing. It’s only been two and a half days, three days, but we’re just so thrilled to have our own little bundle of joy.”
Any amount of sleepless nights will be worth it, just ask Prince William and Kate Middleton!
