Hollywood is still struggling with the loss of Prince!
On Wednesday, the late icon was remembered in a top secret memorial service held by his ex-wives Manuela Testolini and Mayte Garcia at the Samuel Goldwyn Theater in El Lay. Tissues, anyone?
It’s said that the emotional event was a closely-guarded secret in the days leading up to the service. Obviously, since Prince was such an influential member in the industry, the event was attended by some of the biggest A-listers — including Spike Lee, Gwen Stefani, Dita Von Teese, Larry King, and more.

The Malcom X director even took to Instagram to tease that even his ensemble would properly honor Prince. He posted:

Sniff! Reportedly Cheryl Boone Isaacs, who is the president of the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Science, gave the opening remarks just after the superstar’s song Sometimes it Snows in April was played.
Spike, in addition to Nile Rodgers, gave “reflections” about the Purple Rain singer’s influence and untimely passing. Although, we feel that we should mention Prince’s siblings had nothing to do with this particular gathering as they shared last week:
“Contrary to previous and current reports, there has been no memorial, funeral or tribute service for Prince that was organized or authorized by the family or Paisley Park representatives. Together, the family is planning an official memorial service and public event to take place in the near future.”
However, The Artist’s brother Omarr Baker did attend this Hollywood gathering. We have a feeling there is going to be a more public memorial service planned sometime in the near future.
At least, that’s what we hope!
