Prince William hosted his first ever Investiture ceremony at Buckingham Palace earlier today, where he awarded some of the UK’s finest with medals for their accomplishments in their respective fields!
Andy Murray was on the list of recipients and was given an Officer of the Order of the British Empire medal from the Duke of Cambridge!
But the tennis superstar actually came this close to missing his brush with royalty completely due to an ill-timed drug test!
Right when he was supposed to be making his way to Buckingham Palace, Andy took to Twitter and sent out a message that read:
In the middle of a drug test hahaha I'm goin to be late!!!

Yikes! Talk about horrible timing!
Andy explained that he was luckily able to still make it on time due to some fast and furious driving from his taxi driver, and thank goodness he did!
Prince William certainly seemed pleased that he made is as well, as he talked to Andy longer than any of the other recipients of the morning, and they joked about whatever it is that princes and tennis players joke about!
