Prince William & Kate Middleton Are A 'Great Double Act' Despite That Awkward PDA Shrug

Did we get ahead of ourselves with all of that rumored tension between Prince William and Kate Middleton?

Or is the royal palace just that good at doing timely damage control after the couple’s awkward PDA mishap recently made headlines? YOU be the judge!

According to the latest from People, the future King and Queen of England came off as quite the perfect pair at Queen Elizabeth‘s annual party for British diplomats at Buckingham Palace last week on December 11.

A guest who attended the big royal event told the outlet Will and Kate really shined as they mixed and mingled with different party guests together:

“They combine grace and regal presence with a lovely human touch. They are gracious and natural and yet able to really connect.”

Interesting choice of words here since the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge appeared visibly disconnected when they took part in a holiday special with The Great British Bake-Off called A Berry Royal Christmas that aired on Sunday night.

(ICYMI, watch the cringeworthy moment when Kate brushes off a casual touch from her husband HERE.)

It was hard not to think that unusual physical response was due to unresolved feelings over a rumor spread around Royal circles earlier this year claiming Prince William had cheated on his wife with Rose Hanbury, the Marchioness of Cholmondeley. For our readers who may not recall, Hanbury and the momma of three were supposed to be good friends and the alleged affair is supposed to have taken place during Kate’s third pregnancy — 2018 was only last year, y’all!

Whatever shade we (and our readers) might have detected then certainly hasn’t been an issue in recent months, though. A senior royal source commented on the pair’s dynamic during their tour of Pakistan in October and noted:

They are a great double act. People make much of William giving the big speeches, but Kate is there too, asking questions of presidents and their wives. These things are easier when they are side by side.”

Royal biographer Ingrid Seward also told People Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis‘ parents are hyper-focused on prepping for the throne these days and truly learning as they go:

“They are being prepared every day. There was no school for princesses when Princess Diana was around, and there is no school today for monarchs. They learn by observing and by experience.”

Hmm. All things considered, it sounds like business as usual for the famous family!
