Prince William is sharing a rare public comment about how Princess Catherine is doing following her cancer battle!
On Wednesday, the Prince of Wales was in Cape Town, South Africa, for the Earthshot Prize awards. Ahead of the event, he told Sky News that his wife, who stayed home with the kids, has been doing “amazing” since her cancer treatment concluded. He positively reflected:
“She’s doing really well, thanks. Hopefully, she is watching tonight, cheering me on.”

Addressing the challenges of this past year, he continued:
“She’s been amazing this whole year. I know she will be really keen to see tonight be a success.”
Good to hear this encouraging update from him! Will hasn’t made many statements about his wife’s health. Of course, they were totally silent about the whole thing for the first few weeks, leading to all sorts of speculation.
As Perezcious readers know, Kate Middleton has been battling an undisclosed form of cancer, a diagnosis she announced in March after weeks of conspiracy theories. She finished treatment in September and has been making selective appearances since. Earlier this week, royal expert Robert Jobson told Hello! the Princess is “doing very well,”:
“She is back training at the gym and doing all the things she wanted to do.”
That said, he didn’t think she’d be as booked and busy as she was before this health crisis, acknowledging that less is more when it comes to her appearances now. He explained:
“Rather than travel all over the country all the time, like she used to, I think she will concentrate on more impactful events. If she has her way, she will come back in stages and do things that are important to her.”
While Kate stayed home for this event, so far from home, she is expected to step out for the National Service of Remembrance ceremony in London on Sunday. So that suggests she really is getting better and stronger every day! Amazing!
Elsewhere in his brief interview, William shared that he was wearing a friendship bracelet that his daughter Princess Charlotte made for Taylor Swift‘s The Eras Tour. He also shared the ways in which his family tries to “help with the environment” in honor of the Earthshot Prize, which awards grants to environmentally-focused ventures. Watch (below):
