Wow! So brave!
Days after making his official engagement announcement to Kate Middleton, Prince William saved a man’s life while serving as an RAF with search-and-rescue!
Last Thursday, Prince William made a dramatic rescue when he flew to the 3,000-foot peak of Mt. Snowdon, the highest mountain in Wales, through extremely thick fog, to save a hiker who was having a heart attack. Because of the Prince’s quick wit and timing, the man, who is a father of two, was promptly taken to a hospital to recover. Today, William is the man’s hero!
The 45-year-old hiker, Greg Watkins, told sources:
“If it wasn’t for him and the rest of his crew, I’d be dead. He’d probably say he was just doing his job but, to me, he and his crew are heroes..I didn’t know Prince William was flying the helicopter until we landed at the hospital. Even then I felt too unwell for it to really register. The winchman helped me out and on to a stretcher then whispered, ‘Prince William’s just flown you here.’ I looked up at him and just said, ‘Oh. Tell him thank you.’ It didn’t really sink in until I woke up after my operation. Now I think it’s amazing.”
It really is amazing – amazing that someone so privileged could have such courage and strength of character.
You’ve got yourself one fine fiancee, Kate!
