Turns out Princess Catherine isn’t quite done trying to heal the rift between her husband and his brother after all?
Just last month, many royal insiders claimed Kate was done trying to meddle in the sibling rivalry after her efforts had produced little to no results. But now it seems like maybe her behind-the-scenes encouragement has helped! Last month, Prince William said his brother Prince Harry‘s name in public for the first time in years amid their feud. It’s not much, but it’s something! While discussing how their mother Princess Diana took them to a homeless shelter in ITV’s Prince William: We Can End Homelessness documentary, he simply said:
“My mother took me to The Passage, she took Harry and I both there.”
The unexpected name-drop suggested to some that maybe things are improving, and according to a new report, this is all thanks to the Princess of Wales!

Last Tuesday, an insider for Closer shared:
“Kate was very much behind William’s olive branch and has spent more time recently encouraging him to do more in her bid to heal their rift. Kate’s desperate for them to make up and feels the feud has gone on for far too long. She’s been doing whatever she can to not only make William see that, but also to persuade him to open up the lines of communication again with his brother and try to heal the wounds.”
The insider explained that Kate has “been acting as mediator between the brothers,” which has helped her see how the rift is having an “awful effect” on both of their mental health — and it can’t help on Will’s part that it comes amid his wife and father’s cancer battles. Noticing how this was impacting her family, the 42-year-old decided to urge William to make amends, the source furthered:
“She’s found it heartbreaking the change in William and has repeatedly urged him to try to deal with his deep-rooted pain and find forgiveness in his heart for Harry so that they can both start to repair their relationship and move on.”
While “William can be extremely stubborn” and this hasn’t been “an easy task,” it does seem like Kate may be getting through to him as he has “started to soften his stance and take tentative steps towards making amends with his brother.” Good!
However, the source claims, one person is NOT happy about this! Meghan Markle is said to be “increasingly suspicious” of Kate and William’s efforts to win her hubby back and “desperately” trying to stop this! Yikes! The insider claimed:
“Meghan is desperately trying to dissuade Harry from taking any olive branches. She’s insisting that his family will use them against him and try to pit them against each other. She’s furious and has very firmly let it be known, through Harry, that she wants Kate to stop messaging him.”
Oof!
Claiming the Suits alum is “panicking” about her partner “being sucked back into his old life,” the confidant continued:
“For her, it’s far better for Harry to be on the outside, so she can have him firmly and safely in her corner. The thought of him cozying up to his family again has struck a note of panic.”
And because Princess Kate is behind it, this has yet again stirred up Meghan’s rivalry with her sister-in-law, the source shared:
“She’s furious at Kate’s meddling and feels as though she’s trying to coax Harry away from her and get him back into their fold as a kind of revenge. Meghan still has major issues with Kate and partly blames her for them having to step down – so she’s furious that she’s even getting involved.”
They concluded:
“She’s understandably worried about how this will pan out and, while she’s always been able to convince Harry of what’s best for them and their family, she’s not sure how much longer she’ll be able to influence over him. Her biggest fear is still that it could get to the point where he has to make a choice between them or her.”
Whoa.
Who knew one mention of Harry’s name could cause this much controversy again?! This feud remains so messy! Yeesh!
