Prince William is just a big kid in a man’s body!!
In an excerpt from Tom Quinn‘s upcoming new book, Yes Ma’am: The Secret Life of Royal Servants, published by The Times of London on Thursday, the author shared some insider scoop about William’s relationship with Princess Catherine. Specifically, how she has to put up with his child-like behavior. Oof!

Praising Kate Middleton for the way she’s handled the spoiled royal, one unnamed source dished:
“I don’t know where William would be without Kate — she hasn’t had everything done for her throughout her life, so she calms him down when he gets a bit fractious.”
The insider added:
“She said he sometimes has to be treated as her fourth child.”
“She” as in Kate said that?? Yeesh! Not ideal — or the first time we’ve heard this about Willy!
Adding onto this, a former staffer said that both William and his father King Charles III “are prone to tantrums if things are not done to their liking.” They furthered:
“They both get irritated very quickly. They are very picky. It comes naturally to them.”
Not shocking considering they always had people looking and doing thing for them growing up, but this can’t be very pleasant for others to be around! A former Kensington Palace maid also told the author that Kate also had to teach her husband some basic tasks of parenting — at least aspects that are common to non-royals. The maid shared:
“Kate had to explain many of the things that parents outside the royal family do with their children as a matter of course — she had to show him how to give the children a piggyback, for example. William said very quietly, ‘My father never gave me a piggyback.’”
Aw, that’s kinda sad!
Naturally, though, William has also had to help Kate adjust to his posh world, too. For instance, wardrobe used to be a big problem in the early days, one advisor recalled:
“Before Kate realised that as a senior royal you have to dress carefully, having taken advice, she once bought an outfit that William considered inappropriate. He told Kate she looked as if she’d just run through a charity shop covered in superglue. Everyone thought this was very funny, including, to her credit, Kate.”
That’s luckily not something she has to worry about now. Her fashion is envied around the world these days!
The full book will be out in the States on February 25 and promises to spill more tea from staff on working with Meghan Markle, Prince Harry, and Queen Camilla. That should be juicy! Reactions? Share them (below)!
