Good news!
This is a start to ridding the state of Missouri of the reputation of the puppy mill capital.
Proposition B will create more laws regarding puppy mills, it will restrict commercial breeders to no more than 50 female dogs for breeding, increase the size of dogs’ living spaces and require commercial breeders to have their dogs examined by a veterinarian at least once a year.
It also requires the animals to be fed daily, this should not even be a question, and it also restricts the dogs to be bred more than twice every 18 months.
Washington and Oregon have also created more laws concerning puppy mills.
Even though this is a start to helping these poor dogs, the Humane Society of the United States and the ASPCA are trying to encourage people to adopt form shelters rather than pet stores, who are often selling these dogs fro puppy mills.
