Just because you jail the protestor doesn’t mean the PROTEST is over!
Nor do we think it will be! Not while people’s BASIC HUMAN RIGHTS are being stripped from them, anyway!
While three members of Russian punk band Pussy Riot, Nadezhda Tolokonnikova, Maria Alyokhina and Yekaterina Samutsevich, have been sentenced to TWO years in prison for speaking their mind about Vladimir Putin on the altar of Moscow’s Christ the Savior Cathedral, the two members of the group who were involved in the protest but not convicted have fled Russia to avoid the prosecution of ‘hooliganism’…and are currently reaching out to foreign feminists to JOIN THEIR CAUSE!
According to a message (originally in Russian) posted on the band’s Twitter page:
“In connection with the search, our two participants have successfully left the country! They are recruiting foreign feminists for new actions!”
And furthermore, 12 MORE members of the band are still in Russia!
AH-MAZING!
And so, so courageous!
You have the support of so many behind you girls!
Keep fighting! You’re all in our thoughts and prayers!
