Joycelyn Savage’s Mother Begs Her Not To Listen To R. Kelly’s 'Lies' As First In Person Reunion Is Hoped To Be Arranged

Joycelyn Savage’s parents are more determined than ever to meet with her face-to-face.
The mother of one of R. Kelly’s live-in girlfriends issued another plea on Monday to meet with her daughter, who she believes has been brainwashed by the singer, in person for the first time in two and a half years.
In a press conference outside her attorney’s office in Georgia, Jonjelyn Savage expressed concern that her daughter was being fed lies that her family didn’t actually want to see her and was only going on national television for money — when, in actuality, they just want their daughter to come home.

Speaking directly to her daughter, Jonjelyn said:

“Joycelyn, if you do hear my message, please know that your mother loves you dearly. All the lies, manipulation, things that you have heard about your family — that we took money, that we don’t want to see you — those are all lies.”

Joycelyn definitely seemed to believe that her parents were money hungry in her CBS This Morning interview alongside Azriel Clary, Kelly’s other live-in girlfriend, last week.
Sitting down with Gayle King, the two women denied their parents’ claims that they were being held against their will as the Grammy winner’s “sex slaves,” and insisted they were both in happy, consensual relationships with the 52-year-old singer, who has pleaded not guilty to charges of aggravated criminal sexual abuse against four other women.

With Kelly reportedly listening nearby, Joycelyn told King during the sit-down:

“Both our parents are basically out here, they’re trying to get money and scam.”

Both women’s parents have denied asking Kelly for money or receiving money from him.
In a later segment, the Savages were shown having one of their scheduled phone calls with the 23-year-old, who was heard briefly choking up at the sound of her 11-year-old sister Jori‘s voice. Jonjelyn told King that she believes her daughter is being coached on what to say when these “prison” calls take place.

Last week, the Savages revealed they had been speaking with a new member of Kelly’s team in hopes of arranging a face-to-face meeting with Joycelyn in a neutral location outside Chicago.
Savage family attorney Gerald Griggs said the meeting could take place on Monday or Tuesday, but he hasn’t heard back from Kelly’s team since last week. If the meeting does go down, the Savages plan on bringing a psychologist with them to analyze their daughter. They do not want want the singer present.
