Reese Witherspoon is a doting mother, an accomplished businesswoman, and has been one of the biggest names in Hollywood for well over a decade — but even the Oscar winner has flaws! (Well, at least one├óΓé¼┬ª)
In a recent TV interview, the 40-year-old let it slip that she had to quit a movie because she was unable to master a convincing Scottish accent.
The confessional aired on ITV‘s daytime show Lorraine, where Witherspoon sat down with Matthew McConaughey to promote their animated film Sing!

When Ross King asked the two actors about the hardest accents they’ve had to perform, the Legally Blonde star made the slip-up, saying:
“Scottish is really… I don’t want to talk about it. I tried to do a Scottish accent once. It was bad. I had to quit the movie.”
“The movie” in reference was Pixar‘s 2012 film Brave — which Reese was supposed to lend her voice to play the lead character Merida, but had to back out due to “scheduling issues“├óΓé¼┬ª OR SO SHE AND PRODUCERS TOLD EVERYONE!

When McConaughey asked if she really left the film “over the accent,” the blonde beauty cringed, explaining:
“It’s not my finest moment. No. I don’t want to talk about it anymore├óΓé¼┬ª That just came out and I really wish it hadn’t.”
Awwww, we still love you, Reese! Besides, who needs to speak Scottish when you’re America’s sweetheart? Ha!
