The Republican national platform does not include support for same-sex marriage, so it takes a lot of guts to speak up for what you believe in sometimes!
But Illinois’ stroke-surviving Senator Mark Kirk wasn’t about to let peer pressure get in the way!!
Kirk has officially become the second member of the GOP to endorse same-sex marriage! And with one of the best quotes we’ve ever heard on the matter! He said:
“When I climbed the Capitol steps in January, I promised myself that I would return to the Senate with an open mind and greater respect for others.
Same-sex couples should have the right to civil marriage. Our time on this earth is limited, I know that better than most.
Life comes down to who you love and who loves you back ├óΓé¼ΓÇ¥ government has no place in the middle.”
Wow.
We couldn’t have said it better ourselves. Bravo, Mr. Kirk! Actually, you know what? Just for today…
