There is some major drama happening off-camera between two members of the Real Housewives of Potomac cast!
For those who don’t know, Candiace Dillard Bassett has had a rocky relationship with both Michael Darby and his estranged wife, Ashley Darby, over the years — and has never held back whenever getting into it with them! But Candiace went too far during Season 7 of the Bravo series, according to Michael! And now he’s suing her for defamation over allegations she made on the show!

The moment in question went down during a November 2022 episode of RHOP when the 36-year-old reality star got into a heated argument (yet again) with Ashley, this time about her husband, Chris Bassett, allegedly being very flirty with other castmates and the 34-year-old’s friend. When Ashley claimed that Chris was sliding into other people’s DMs, Candiace decided to drop a shocking allegation about Michael in response. She said:
“Ashley, your husband likes to leave you and go to a man named [censored]’s house and suck his d**k.”
While Candiace never revealed the supposed other guy’s identity, she went on to claim that Michael also paid for sex. The former pageant queen explained during a confessional that she “was not supposed to talk about this person, but he says Michael Darby is a client of his.” Ch-ch-check out the jaw-dropping argument(below):

Now, Michael is firing back at the accusations — not on reality TV, in real-life court! According to legal documents obtained by TMZ on Thursday, the 77-year-old filed a defamation lawsuit against Candiace over the claims she made about him giving oral sex to a man.
Michael claims he sent her a cease and desist earlier this year about her comments. However, Candiace has not taken back any of her statements from the show since then — leaving him to pursue legal action. And he’s not messing around right now! The outlet reported that he is seeking a whopping $2 million in damages. Damn! We wouldn’t be surprised if some of the Housewives stop and think before they drop any more claims on the show moving forward, depending on what happens with this court case…
