Even though there are a lot of incredible things that have happen throughout the 2016 Rio Olympics, one story that EVERYONE was keeping their eye on was Michael Phelps attempting to add to his already ludicrous Olympic medal count!

Before Tuesday night, the decorated athlete had 19 Gold medals all to himself and an astounding 23 medals total — and now he’s up to 21 and 25 respectively!
One of the most highly anticipated races of the games was easily the 200m butterfly as it served as a rematch between Phelps and Chad le Clos, who the American lost two by .05 seconds in the same event at the 2012 games in London.
In an exciting race, Michael ended up pulling off the victory over second place finisher Masato Sakai of Japan with a time of 1.53.36! Yeah, despite all that build up and ridiculous warm up routine, le Clos ended up coming in fourth.
Winning the 200m marked the swimmer’s 20th gold and after the big win, the athlete celebrated in the water by wagging his finger (above) and raising his arms — which Twitter LOVED! Of course the crowd immediately started chanting “201 20! 20!” and it didn’t take long for the 31-year-old to go celebrate with his baby boy Boomer!

After the victory, Phelps spoke with NBC about his accomplishment saying:
“There was so much emotion and so much build-up for that race over the past four years. I don’t want to say revenge, but that’s kind of what it was. I wanted that race back.”
But the studly swimmer wasn’t done yet as he also helped Team USA earn gold in the 4×200 men’s relay!
Phelps anchored the team which also included Ryan Lochte, Connor Dwyer, and Townley Haas as they got out to an early lead and didn’t look back.

Wednesday: 200-meter individual medley heats, 10:09 a.m. / 200-meter individual medley semifinals, 7:29 p.m. (if Phelps advances)
Thursday: 100-meter butterfly heats, 10:31 a.m. / 200-meter individual medley final, 7:01 p.m. (if Phelps advances) / 100-meter butterfly semifinals, 7:34 p.m. (if Phelps advances)
Friday: 100-meter butterfly finals, 6:12 p.m. (if Phelps advances)
