Talk about a mean mug!
The Olympics have already given us a TON to talk about whether you’re following the drama at the Olympic Village, Samuel L. Jackson live tweeting the event, or just some AH-Mazing upsets
Well on Monday night, Michael Phelps continued to prove himself as the Olympian who keeps on giving as he was caught on camera giving a mean mug to his rival Chad le Clos while the South African athlete was warming up! The two men were getting ready for their qualifying 200 butterfly race, which if they made the finals — which they did — they’ll rematch their 2012 Olympics race in which Chad stunned the world when he upset Michael by .05 seconds to win gold!

What makes this so incredibly HIGHlarious is both men seem unphased as le Clos went through his awkward routine pretty close to Phelps and even shadow boxed right next to him as the American swimmer glared! LOLz!
Ch-ch-check out the ridiculously funny video (below) as well as ALL the best Twitter reactions from people who couldn’t get enough of #PhelpsFace!

As we mentioned, both men ended up advancing to Tuesday’s 200m butterfly finals! If Phelps pulls off the win, it will be his 20th gold medal and he’ll have 24 medals total!
After the race, NBC‘s Michelle Tafoya asked Michael about his rival’s warmup routine to which the athlete replied:
“Everyone has their own race strategy. If that’s his, that’s his.”
We just hope the most decorated Olympian’s warmup involves some more death stares! LOLz!
