As if the pole vault wasn’t already one of the most impressive sports at the Olympics, this year’s athletes have some extra stiff competition.
In fact, during Saturday’s qualifying rounds in Rio, 28-year-old Hiroki Ogita went for gold… but only got black and blue when one of his body parts hit the high bar.

Unfortunately for the Japanese performer, we’re not talking legs or arms here — No, it was his penis that actually got in the way!
Despite the hardship, Hiroki went on to clear two more bars before coming in 21st place for the day, but it was not enough to send him through to Monday’s final.
