Eh, give the guy a break! They can’t all be good, you know.
Last night, Robert De Niro received the Lifetime Achievement Award for his long line of amazing work, Unfortunately, his acceptance speech was just as memorable as his classic flicks, but not in a good way.
Rob tried his hand a little, shall we say, schtick while accepting his award, but ended up making some rather controversial remarks that didn’t go over so well. (We personally didn’t appreciate the jab at the waiters and Javier Bardem.)
When he headed back to the press room, he was immediately asked why he tried to be “funny.” He replied:
“I thought this would be more fun for this kind of evening.”
Thought wrong, bb.
Still, nothing he said compares to what Ricky Gervais said. Bet he’s in WAY more trouble than Rob right now.
