When actor Robert Pattinson was considering whether or not to take on the role of Jacob in his upcoming movie Water For Elephants, it wasn’t until he met his 9,000 pound co-star, Tai, that he decided to commit.
The film’s animal coordinator, Paul “Sled” Reynolds, recalled:
“Rob was non-committal until he saw the elephant. After he met Tai, he knew he wanted to do this movie. He absolutely adored that elephant.”
On the set, Rob had excellent chemistry with the elephant!
Maybe they’ll work together again in the future.
The film’s director, Francis Lawrence, said that Rob’s humility and love for animals helped him nab the part. The director said:
“When I sat down with Rob, I found that despite his success, there was a real sense of humility with him. I found that he was kind of uncomfortable in his own skin, and maybe even uncomfortable with everything that was happening to him. Rob is a very sensitive guy who very much loves animals.”
Rob being an animal lover only makes him MORE of a heartthrob!
We can’t wait to see Water For Elephants and check out Rob’s on-screen chemistry with Tai ourselves, not to mention his chemistry with on-screen love interest Reese Witherspoon.
