Holy moly, shiz just got REAL in this lawsuit!
So, in case you missed it and/or forgot, Robin Thicke and Pharrell are being sued by Marvin Gaye‘s estate because their super ‘rapey’ song Blurred Lines sounds like Got To Give It Up.
Well, not only are court proceedings and such underway, but Robin’s deposition from April has been uncovered by The Hollywood Reporter and what they found out is not pretty.
Like the fact that Robin ‘didn’t do a sober interview’ that whole year because of his ‘drug and alcohol problem.’
Talk about a bombshell!
He opened up, saying:
‘Q: Were you present during the creation of Blurred Lines?
Robin: I was present. Obviously, I sang it. I had to be there.
Q: When the rhythm track was being created, were you there with Pharrell?
Robin: To be honest, that’s the only part where ├óΓé¼ΓÇ¥ I was high on Vicodin and alcohol when I showed up at the studio. So my recollection is when we made the song, I thought I wanted ├óΓé¼ΓÇ¥ I ├óΓé¼ΓÇ¥ I wanted to be more involved than I actually was by the time, nine months later, it became a huge hit and I wanted credit. So I started kind of convincing myself that I was a little more part of it than I was and I ├óΓé¼ΓÇ¥ because I didn’t want him ├óΓé¼ΓÇ¥ I wanted some credit for this big hit. But the reality is, is that Pharrell had the beat and he wrote almost every single part of the song.’
WOW! Well, we guess when you’re legally obligated to the tell the truth, stuff like that must be said!
Maybe that’s one of the contributing reasons as to why Paula Patton left him…
Other than the cheating, of course!
