Baby Sussex’s moniker is a mystery no more!!
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have decided to name their baby boy Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor!

The couple shared on their Instagram Wednesday afternoon:
“The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are pleased to announce they have named their first born child:
Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor
This afternoon Their Royal Highnesses introduced Her Majesty The Queen to her eighth great-grandchild at Windsor Castle. The Duke of Edinburgh and The Duchess’ mother were also present for this special occasion.”
Prince Philip, great-grandma Queen Elizabeth and Meghan’s mom Doria Ragland look positively elated!
Many thought Harry’s son was going to be a girl — with names like Allegra and Diana as front runners! But soon after the birth announcement, many outlets were reporting the unconventional royals would go with an uncommon name. Commentator Victoria Arbiter shared:
“I don’t have an inside track on the actual name but I think when it comes to names we are looking at a very strong name because that is who Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are. But I also think we are going to see a name that works on both sides of the pond.”
While Amy Jones, from major betting agency Paddy Power, revealed:
“What we’re seeing the most bets on is Alexander. So since the news broke that the baby was a boy, Alexander’s been the most popular. And I personally think that’s probably because there’s a US link there with Alexander Hamilton. And, of course, the Queen’s middle name is Alexandra. And I think our betters like when there’s a little bit of meaning behind what they’re betting on. I think it has that link between the US and the UK.”

Soon after the birth, a beaming Harry shared the following with press outside Windsor:
“I’m very excited to announce that Meghan and myself had a baby boy this morning, a very healthy baby boy. I’m so incredibly proud of my wife. It’s brilliant, I’m absolutely thrilled. We’re really grateful for all the love and support shown to us. It’s been overdue so we have had a little bit of time to think about names so that’s the next bit.
I haven’t been at many births. This is my first birth. It was amazing and absolutely incredible. I’m incredibly proud of my wife. Every father and parent will say your baby is absolutely amazing but this little thing is absolutely to die for. I’m over the moon.”
Archie joins Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis as the children of the royals. What an adorable bunch!!
