Ryan Reynolds is standing firmly by his leading lady, and he’s not holding back about it!
The Deadpool star is finally opening up about how he and wife Blake Lively are navigating their so-called “real life” while the very public and very messy legal drama involving Justin Baldoni continues to unfold. And let’s just say, he has thoughts.
During a candid chat on the Today Show’s latest Sunday Sitdown segment with journo Willie Geist, Ryan gave a rare glimpse into how the couple is coping behind closed doors while It Ends With Us legal battle headlines swirl. And according to him, what the public sees isn’t even CLOSE to the full picture!

As Ryan put it:
“People have no idea what’s really going on, you know?”
Oh? What’s really going on?! That alone speaks volumes!
While Lively-Baldoni speculation has been running wild for months now, Ryan made it crystal clear there’s a major disconnect between perception and reality.
But what really stood out? His absolute admiration for Blake amid all the lawsuit drama versus Baldoni. Amid reports that her reputation in Hollywood has supposedly taken a serious hit due to the ongoing legal battle, Ryan is doubling down on his support. He gushed to Geist:
“Never in my life been more proud of my wife. And I’ve just never in my life been more proud of someone with that level of integrity that brings that with them and carries that with them in everything that they do.”
Now that is a husband showing up loudly and proudly! Especially as rumors swirl that Blake’s standing in the industry has suffered, with some insiders even going as far as to claim she’s been “ruined” in Hollywood. Harsh, right?
Still, Ryan seems unfazed by the noise. In fact, he hinted that this entire ordeal has peeled back the curtain on fame itself, making a sharp distinction between what we see online and what actually matters. He explained:
“You really see kind of the illusion behind so much of this stuff, you know? Digital life versus real life.”
Honestly, he’s not wrong. The couple, who have long been admired for their playful social media presence and seemingly rock-solid marriage, are now facing a very real storm.
