Sally Jessy Raphael Opens Up About Her Red Glasses

And by open up, we really mean open up!

Former talk show host Sally Jessy Raphael is finally coming clean about those red glasses she’s worn for years.

On Wednesday, SJR revealed to Oprah:

“I couldn’t see the teleprompter. So I saw an ad that said, ‘We do a Pap smear and give you red glasses.’ They were going to trade me up [to a better pair]. I said: ‘You’re not going to trade me up. I don’t have that kind of money.’ It’s all they had for $19.95.”

There’s so many things wrong with that statement, but at least it makes for a good story. Right?
