Aside from that awful town clerk in Cayuga County, NY, things seem to be going extremely well for same sex marriage in New York!
According to NY City Clerk Michael McSweeney, ever since same-sex marriage was legalized in New York, there’s been a 33% increase in marriage licenses!
We’re also hearing that around one in four weddings in NYC are now for same-sex couples, and that 1,400 gay couples have gotten married so far! YES!!!!!
Here’s what McSweeney had to say about this boom of same sex marriages:
“Last week we averaged 335 license applications a day, busier than ever.”
