A 13-Year-Old Girl's Samsung Phone Catches Fire While Sleeping With It Under Her Pillow!

samsung phone catches fire under pillow
Ariel Tolfree got a little too hot-headed when she went to bed over the weekend.
That’s because while she was asleep, her phone caught on fire under her pillow, completely burning the device to an unrecognizable state.
Her phone, a Samsung Galaxy S4, overheated while beneath her bedding, and started to smoke. Ariel first woke up to the smell of the smoke, but FELL BACK ASLEEP anyway.
Ariel explains:

“I didn├óΓé¼Γäót think much of it, so I went back to sleep and then I woke up again and it was more prominent.”

Naturally, her father Thomas Tolfree is both upset and confused as to how such a serious issue could happen in something as commonplace as a cell phone.
The company, which actually makes waterproof phones, declined any fault, saying that the 13-year-old was to blame for sleeping with her phone next to her despite warnings that blocked airflow could lead to overheating and, potentially, fire.
Plus, Ariel had the audacity to replace her phone’s battery with a, presumably cheaper, third-party unit. So, she was basically just using Twitter and Instagram on a box of lit matches.
Samsung did promise to replace Ariel’s phone, mattress, and bedding, but wants the family to mail the now-fried phone to the company so that it can run some tests and officially deflect any blame that might be thrown its way.
The All-New Samsung Galaxy S4. Cool with water. Not so hot with fire.
