In addition to wearing the same Gucci dress worn by approximately a million others in the September issue of Harper’s Bazaar, Sarah Jessica Parker divulges some juicy tidbits to Cathy Horyn about her upcoming shoe line with Manolo Blahnik and her time at Halston Heritage.
Horyn writes that, according to SJP, we can “expect feminine shapes, plenty of low heels, and unusual color combinations like navy and mocha.”
Yeah, that’s what she said last time! And we’re really itching to see them already!
The 48-year-old also explained why she’s particular innerested in getting into shoes, saying:
“The shoe business is so exciting because we don’t have to think of black and brown as the only neutrals anymore.”
George Malkemus, her partner in the shoe line, confessed that SJP really, REALLY likes new shoes, saying:
“She picks them up and smells them.”
Um, that’s true love right there!
Finally, regarding her time as president of Halston Heritage, the actress admitted:
“We’ve all worked with complicated people and I always think that I can disarm them. I love collaborating. I’m a great listener and learner, and I don’t think I know more than they do. I’m transparent. I really did work for free. Some cultures can’t be undone.”
Ooh, sounds like it wasn’t such a great time. But we bet she learned a lot that she can use to make her partnership with Blahnik that much better.
We are truly looking forward to seeing her designs when they make their debut in Nordstrom in February!
