Sarah Jessica Parker Defends The End Of Sex And The City -- And Explains Why She'll Never Take A Selfie!

Sarah Jessica Parker may have made it very clear that she is not anything like Carrie Bradshaw IRL, but that doesn’t mean she won’t defend her iconic show!
The Sex And The City star recently opened up to Yahoo Beauty about the way the iconic series ended, which is obviously a subject of some controversy.

The interviewer mentioned that series creator Darren Star was NOT a fan of the way the franchise finished. He had previously said:

“I think the show ultimately betrayed what it was about, which was that women don’t ultimately find happiness from marriage. Not that they can’t. But the show initially was going off script from the romantic comedies that had come before it. That’s what had made women so attached.”

But the blonde beauty disagrees, saying:

“As I recall, the way Carrie and Big married was something she wanted rather than a feeling that life was slipping away and she best settle quickly. I don’t think of it as someone diminishing herself by letting a man marry her ├óΓé¼ΓÇ¥ it always felt that she had arrived at that on her own. But the beauty is we can all have lots and lots of opinions about lots of choices Carrie made that we object to or that we stand by. If that’s Darren’s feeling, I think it’s interesting!”

Sadly, Big or no, the SATC days are behind her now.
The 50-year-old has since moved on to other projects, including filming the movie All Roads Lead To Rome in Italy!

The gorgeous gal just gushed about the country’s capital, dishing:

“I have great wanderlust, and as long as my children could be taken care of in my absence I thought a trip to work in Italy would be such a pleasant way to spend time. I love museums and architecture and food of course, and all of that is amazing in Rome, but I also think working with a crew that speaks a different language is a very good experience. Not to mention the opportunity to live someplace while working is a great way to know it. Rosie and I rented bikes, and we would bike all the way across Rome. We got to bike into the Vatican and watch the Pope speak!”

SJP also discussed the new HBO series she’s starring in, called Divorce. She explained:

“You know, the particular landscape of divorce and the story of a marriage is really interesting to me because it’s so complicated.”

And the lovely lady even admitted that she never has — and never will — take a selfie, let alone post one to Instagram:

“I think I came late to social media in general, so I was very thoughtful about how I wanted to use it because there are countless examples and ways that are far too mercenary and awful and vulgar. I could never post a selfie. I’m embarrassed to even do a selfie with a nice person on the street.”

Awwww! Well if you ever want a selfie tutorial, Jessica, just let us know!
