Saturday Night Live Adding Two Black Women To Their Writers' Room!

Rejoice!!!
Not only is Saturday Night Live adding a new and much needed black female cast member, they’ve also just hired two African-American women for their writers’ room!
LaKendra Tookes and Leslie Jones were discovered during the recent round of auditions that SNL held in order to find a funny black female to add to their cast.
The job went to Sasheer Zamata, who was announced as the newest featured player for the late-night sketch show earlier this week. But SNL’s need for more diversity is extending to the writing team as well, with the addition of LaKendra and Leslie!
LaKendra is a former news reporter who has been working as a stand up comedian in El Lay. Leslie is also a performer, and although there are no plans to have them appear on the show at this time, it’s very common for SNL’s writers to get a cameo appearance on the show from time to time!
Congratz, ladies, on this once in a lifetime gig!!!
