Scarlett Johansson may be known for her amazing body, but it turns out that fantastic figure may be distracting from her true potential!
The Avenger’s new film Her premiered this weekend, and it’s already starting to get some buzz- of the Oscar variety! And she doesn’t even appear onscreen!
ScarJo plays a Siri-type computer operating system voice that make Joaquin Phoenix – and apparently critics – fall in love with her.
If she were to be nominated, the nod would make Oscar history; no one has ever received a nomination for a voiceover performance. Andy Serkis was famously snubbed ten years ago for his groundbreaking performance as Gollum in the Best Picture-winning The Lord Of The Rings.
But the film’s producer Megan Ellison seems optimistic about ScarJo’s chances. She wrote on Twitter:
“Scarlett is eligible, deserves the recognition, and we are going to campaign for her.”
We can’t wait to see if she gets the nod! Will this be the beginning of a new trend? Or will the Academy continue to give precedence to physical presence?
One thing is for sure- if Scarlett does win an Oscar, no one can say she got by on her looks!
