Will Scotland Finally Gain Independence From The UK???

We can’t believe this is actually happening!
Scottish First Minister Alex Salmond has announced that Scottish voters will get the chance to vote on whether or not they want independence from the UK in 2014.
Salmond chose ’14 because he wants the vote to take place “just after the 700th anniversary of a renowned Scottish victory over the English at Bannockburn.”
UK Prime Minister David Cameron isn’t so pleased with Salmond’s decision to delay the vote until 2014. He’s agreed to help Scotland organize a vote, but he wants it to take place soon, and he wants a straightforward “yes or no” vote.
Sounds to us like the UK is ready to make a clean break with Scotland! We’ll keep an ear out to see if the Scottish first minister pushes up the vote date.
