The funny thing about the ESPYs, and we’ll say this every year, is that we already have awards for sports — it’s called winning! Especially championships! Also MVP awards and whatnot! LOLz!
Still, for the past 20 years, the ESPYs have gone out of their way to give more awards to more people who make lots of money for playing games for a living! Honestly, even if it DOES seem a little redundant, it’s still a fun night with incredible talent! Plus it gives us another chance to watch Jon Hamm for an entire evening!
This year, the top athlete awards went to two of the best players in their sport! We just feel bummed that Ohio had to spend the night probably having stress nightmares over one of the winners!
Congrats to Serena Williams for winning the the top female athlete award (she was absent, off playing tennis or something!), and LeBron James for winning in the male category (even though he already won it last year, and his top spot could totally be argued)!
Such a happy and positive night! We wish all the other athletes the best of luck for next year… though they should probably focus on championships instead of award shows!
