Seth Rogen Is Raising Money For Alzheimers, And The Prize Is Insane!

Seth Rogen isn’t just some stoner comic genius. He doesn’t just sit around with James Franco hitting cross-joints and doing nothing!
He’s super active in fighting Alzheimer’s and enlisting others to help!
Seth and his wife, Lauren Miller, created Hilarity for Charity for just that reason — and they just launched an incredible new program called HFC U to get college students off their asses and raising awareness and cold hard $$$$$!
And we mentioned a prize, right? Well the college that raises the most money… we’ll just let Seth explain it:

“Whichever college raises the most money, I├óΓé¼Γäóll go to that school and I├óΓé¼Γäóll show my new movie, Neighbors and I├óΓé¼Γäóll do a Q&A and I├óΓé¼Γäóll hang out. We decided to really make it easy: if you go to our website and click on the HFC U tab, there├óΓé¼Γäós instructions explaining exactly how to put on your own charity event.”

Incredible!
Here’s what Seth had to say about the disease:

“It├óΓé¼Γäós a rapidly growing disease. It├óΓé¼Γäós the only disease that is in one of the top ten causes of death that has no treatment or cure and it├óΓé¼Γäós something that I think people view as kind of a natural thing that rolls you into death as you get up in your years. After being face-to-face with it, it├óΓé¼Γäós truly nothing like that. It├óΓé¼Γäós much more brutal than people understand. There├óΓé¼Γäós a stigma to it that we├óΓé¼Γäóre also trying to get rid of. People are very ashamed of it and don├óΓé¼Γäót even like talking about it.
‘Part of our whole goal was to get young people involved in charity. We got an idea that we could start a program where we could provide the information for kids in colleges to put on their own charity events to benefit Hilarity for Charity.”

This sounds so great! The only thing left is to figure out how to get involved!
Oh wait, we’ve got that covered:

‘You can just go to HilarityforCharity.org and donate money. If you live in Los Angeles, you can volunteer at one of our events. If you go to our website, there├óΓé¼Γäós a ton of ways you can get involved.’

Sadly, Seth’s reasons for doing this are not purely impersonal. In fact, the disease really hits close to home — his step-mother has been diagnosed:

“I mean, the only thing we├óΓé¼Γäóve really taken comfort in is doing this, honestly. It├óΓé¼Γäós such a terrible disease and makes you feel so helpless. There├óΓé¼Γäós no cure or treatment or anything that can improve or even slow the effects. If you├óΓé¼Γäóre in a situation that helpless, I think you struggle to find anything that makes you feel like you├óΓé¼Γäóre somewhat in control of it. What we did was start a charity to try to raise funds to one day learn how to do something about it. That├óΓé¼Γäós what I recommend people do: turn that frustration into something constructive.”

We’ll just leave you guys with that. This is an incredibly nobel cause, and a worthy one.
Seeing a younger generation get involved would be the best thing ever.
