The AMAZING Shailene Woodley will NOT be in The Amazing Spider-Man 2!
She was tapped to star as Mary Jane Watson and had already begun filming scenes with Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone. Now producers have decided to hold off on getting the red-head up on screen with Spidey. So what gives?!?
Shailene told Entertainment Weekly:
“Of course I’m bummed. But I am a firm believer in everything happening for a specific reason.”
Even though there’s no room for MJ in next year’s blockbuster, it sounds like Shailene COULD be back for The Amazing Spider-Man 3 or 4. She explained:
“Based on the proposed plot, I completely understand the need for holding off on introducing [Mary Jane] until the next film.”
But will it be Shailene playing Mary Jane or will we see someone else take the role? After all, Shailene has a SUPER busy year ahead of her, now that she’ll be starring in the YA science-fiction thriller Divergent.
