Jimmy Fallon is no spring chicken!
That’s what Shawn Mendes reminded everyone when he appeared on The Tonight Show on Thursday night, making sure their age discrepancy was fully acknowledged.
Over and over…
Taking part in a musical segment #FallSongs, the Stitches singer joined The Roots to sing popular song lyrics that were autumn-ized by fans on Twitter.
And apparently, the 18-year-old Snapchat star was feeling a bit smarmy, because he kept giving Fallon a hard time throughout the bit!

After calling out the host for giving him a late cue to start singing, Mendes attempted to continue bantering with the host, but it didn’t come off very charming since the singer basically just kept making fun of Jimmy for being old!
Fallon played along at first, but let Mendes experience some awkward silences when some of his “burns” didn’t land with the audience towards the end.
