Savannah Guthrie is making a new career move.
In an exciting announcement on The Today Show Monday, the TV host revealed alongside Jimmy Fallon that they’ve got plans for a new game show! The new competition series will be based on The New York Times‘ popular game Wordle. Jimmy revealed they’ve been working on creating the show for “two-and-a-half years” now — and it’s officially here.
Savannah revealed she’s a big fan of the game herself, and she loves the family friendly aspect. Jimmy agreed, saying she was the “perfect” choice for host and that they “couldn’t do it without” her. Aww!
And they really couldn’t do it without her. Because Savannah revealed when her mom Nancy sadly went missing in February, they put the whole show on hold to wait for her:
“We’ve been working on this for a really long time, and actually we just found out in February that we got picked up and we were supposed to shoot in March. And I just want to say a quick thank you to NBC and to Jimmy and his production company and the The New York Times and the studio and Universal because when everything happened with me and my family, they just stopped everything and said ‘We’ll wait for you’.”
Aww… SO kind.

She continued:
“It kind of feels strange to do everything right now, but this is something that’s full of joy.”
We’re glad Savannah is able to find something that brings her joy. She’s been through so much these past few months…
