Josh Charles is setting the record straight on his “fight” with Travis Kelce!
As you know, the Dead Poets Society star starred alongside Taylor Swift in her Fortnight music video, which marked the beginning of her Tortured Poets era! You can see the video (below):
It was a nice surprise for fans and it really set the tone for the rest of the album… But according to Ethan Hawke last September, his co-star got into it with KillaTrav on set!
Ethan alluded in a 2025 interview that there was a “fight” between the NFL star and the actor, but Josh is saying that’s not true. On Monday night, Jimmy Fallon brought up the topic to Josh, to which he responded:
“A fight? No, he exaggerated this. It wasn’t a fight.”
Then where did the tension come from?! Well, he went on to say it was because of sportsmanship! The Kansas City Chiefs completely obliterated his fav team, the Baltimore Ravens, that year — and it left a bad taste in his mouth:
“I’ve always liked Travis Kelce. I just thought he was so cool. But that year they beat us in the AFC Championship game — they beat the Ravens — he was a real jerk that year. So I kind of fell off of him … When I met him, I said, ‘You know I always liked you and this year you were kind of a d**k’.”

Ha! Telling him right to his face?! That takes guts, seriously. Even Jimmy was shocked, and said:
“You said that to Travis Kelce?! He’s one of the most lovable people I know!”
Travis took it in stride, though. Josh continued:
“I did [say it to Travis’ face]. I said, ‘What was up with that?’ And he laughed. He was like, ‘You know what, you’re right. I’m gonna tell you why’.”
He went on to explain that the tight end told him he and the Chiefs were “most worried about that game”:
“He’s like, ‘I knew I had to come in with some swagger,’ and he did. He got one of our veterans to commit a personal foul. He got in our heads, and it worked for them, and they won the game.”
No hard feelings, though! Josh said Trav was a stand-up guy:
“He was actually great. We talked all different kinds of football. Such a good dude. I really liked him a lot.”
Jimmy agreed, calling Travis “the most fun human being” — even going as far as to say it’s impossible for him to “root against him”! Josh didn’t feel the same, though. He said he likes Trav as a person “a lot,” but when it comes to football? He’ll always “root against him”. Ha!

Too funny! We’re glad to hear there was no real Bad Blood between these two! Reactions, Perezcious readers?
