We were so sorry to hear about the passing of Marcia Wallace last week.
Such a small cast of super talented voice actors fills Springfield that the loss to The Simpsons is all the more devastating.
That’s why the show took a moment from their iconic opening titles to dedicate to the passing of Mrs. Edna Krabappel.
Showrunner Al Jean made it clear that Marcia’s illness was NOT what prompted the plot line of a major character death this season. He said:
“Earlier we had discussed a potential storyline in which a character passed away. This was not Marcia’s Edna Krabappel.
Marcia’s passing is unrelated and again, a terrible loss for all who had the pleasure of knowing her.”
So sad! Every Simpsons fan lost their favorite teacher, and TV lost a true talent. Bart’s message says it all.
