This is so sweet!
South African director Brett Best wanted to have Sir Patrick Stewart help him in his proposal to his Star Trek fanatic boyfriend Khalid Shawwa.
Unfortunately, Patrick was unavailable. Fortunately, his bestie Sir Ian McKellen was there in his stead.
Here was Gandalf’s message for Khalid:

“Khalid, I’ve got bad news for you. It’s good news as well. But the bad news is Patrick Stewart is married. I married him. Well, no, I was the minister at the wedding. He’s not available. The good news is that Brett is available. So, think it over. Do the right thing.”

We hope Khalid did, and said “yes,” and that the two will have a Next Generation of kids.
