Skrillex is standing by his song!
On Thursday, we learned that the DJ and Justin Bieber are being sued for supposedly stealing a portion of their smash single Sorry from an indie artist.
Casey Dienel — who performs under the name White Hinterland — filed a lawsuit alleging that the music producer and the superstar ripped off the 31-year-old’s song Ring The Bell, saying they swiped “unique characteristics of the female vocal riff.”

However, the 28-year-old is taking to Twitter to slam the suit, and even offered up video proof that he and cowriter Julia Michaels organically created their song’s signature run, posting:
SORRY but we didnt steal this 🙏🏻 @justinbieber @bloodpop pic.twitter.com/9897j9sfY7

Well, that definitely shows they didn’t directly sample White Hinterland’s song!
Buuuuut the legal complaint’s main concern is the similarities in the vocal riffs, which are pretty uncanny. How do U think this suit will play out, Perezcious readers?!
Will J.B. and Skrillex have to pay up?!
