Is there more to this heartbreaking case??
As you may have heard, Slash‘s stepdaughter Lucy-Bleu Knight — daughter of his longtime girlfriend Meegan Hodges — passed away last Friday. The Guns N’ Roses guitarist broke the tragic news on Monday, releasing a statement saying she “passed peacefully in Los Angeles, CA on July 19, 2024.” She was only 25 years old.
No explanation was given for how the young woman died. But a new report from In Touch Weekly claims the autopsy was completed on Monday afternoon. The outlet says Los Angeles Medical Examiner records confirm she died on Friday, July 19 at a private residence. However, there’s no new information because the official cause of death has been filled out as “deferred,” pending more testing. Presumably this includes toxicology, which can often take a while to complete. The outlet reports an investigator has been assigned to the case.

It’s devastating to think the family has to wait for answers after such a shocking loss. Of course, there was a sort of clue left by Lucy-Bleu herself. In a haunting final move, she scheduled an Instagram post which went up two days after her death. It reads:
“Whether I made you feel excluded, manipulated/ controlled you, told you to quit your day job from the comfort of being financially supported by my parents, or drowned real issues in toxic positivity – I am sorry. Countless missed opportunities and connections due to a disgustingly big ego, insecure heart and fear of being vulnerable. May my soul learn to evolve from my poor job at being Lucy-Bleu. Peace
“
“It really does sound like a goodbye. To be clear, while this may imply self-harm to many, this has, crucially, not been confirmed by the autopsy. No manner of death has been determined, at least not publicly.
However, the outpouring of love in response to the post could not be clearer. Her mother responded to the final missive:
“MY BABY GIRL! I LOVE YOU WITH EVERYTHING. I’M SO SORRY.”
Lucy-Bleu’s friends Grace and Mae McKagan, Guns N’ Roses bassist Duff McKagan‘s daughters, wrote respectively:
“You have nothing to apologize for, I’ll see you again, I love you. I’ve got you.”
and:
“irreplaceable”
