This is one of the cutest proposals we’ve ever seen! It hits us right in our Disney-raised hearts!
Lee Loechler knew his girlfriend, Dr. Sthuthi David, absolutely adored Sleeping Beauty. So he planned a special screening at a local theater. Only this was a very special edition.
At the moment Prince Charming awakens Aurora with a kiss, the animation changes to a special one created by an illustrator (it took over SIX MONTHS!) showing Lee and Sthuthi instead.

Cartoon Lee pulls out a ring — and in a bit of Disney magic, tosses it to the real-life Lee!
That’s when the lights come on and Lee pops the question, saying:
“It’s not every day you get to propose to your high school sweetheart, so I’m gonna take my time.”
Awwww. But the cartoon Lee knows not to dawdle and points to his watch! Ha!
Selfless princess Sthuthi actually pauses in the middle of her own proposal and worries about the theater audience not getting to watch the end of their movie, saying:
“Oh my god, these poor people.”
Lee points out “they’re all in on it,” leading Sthuthi to turn around for the first time and notice the ENTIRE little theater house is filled with their family and friends! Amazing!
Lee then says:
“I love you with my whole heart, including all of its ventricles, atriums, valves.”
He then explains to the audience “she’s a cardiologist.” Cute!
FINALLY, Lee actually pops the question, asking:
“Sthuthi David, M.D. — will you live happily ever after with me?”
And OF COURSE, she says yes after all that!
