Viewers didn’t seem to mind Sarah Palin and Hillary Clinton – portrayed hilariously by Tina Fey and Amy Poehler – in lieu of Barak Obama (The real one!) on SNL’s season premiere on Saturday.
The 34th season opener, hosted by golden boy Michael Phelps, debuted Sept. 13th with a 7.4 rating/18 share in the metered markets. That’s the highest local-market average for an SNL season premiere since 2001 and an increase of 64% from one year earlier on Sept. 29th with a 4.5/11.
Let’s hope the voting booths experience a similar increase!
