New details have come out about the drama surrounding the upcoming live remake of Snow White!
As we previously reported, Disney decided to continue with the premiere of the film this weekend — but with NO press! That’s right! They pulled a rare move and did not invite a single outlet to ask the stars questions on the red carpet outside the El Capitan on Hollywood Boulevard! Why? It could be because Peter Dinklage slammed the Mouse House for making the movie. Or due to Gal Gadot, who portrays the Evil Queen, who has been a huge supporter of Israel amid the genocide against Palestinians.
Then there is the star Rachel Zegler. She has voiced her support for Palestine, spoke out against Donald Trump and his supporters, and was critical of the original classic, and people haven’t been the biggest fan of hers (or Gal’s, for that matter) due to her no-filter ways over the years.

Obviously, the exact reason Disney decided to forgo the press at the premiere is unknown. We ultimately get the vibe, however, that the company wants to avoid as much controversy as possible! Perhaps even avoid a Don’t Worry Darling and It Ends With Us situation because things are tense between the leading ladies! Well, too late! A source is spilling the tea about Gal and Rachel! And yeah, it sounds like they are not close co-stars!
According to People on Friday, an insider shared that the 23-year-old West Side Story actress “has nothing in common with Gal Gadot, a mom of four kids.” It’s not just because they are at different phases of life. As we mentioned, they do not share the same political views – especially when it comes to the ongoing conflict in Gaza. The insider continued:
“On top of that, their political views differ, adding to the tension.”
At this point, fans picked up on the “tension” between the two! They felt vibes were off when they presented together at the Oscars. Gal fueled the speculation when she didn’t even attend the Snow White premiere in Spain this week with Rachel! However, another source familiar with the situation claimed to People that the Wonder Woman star was “never supposed to be in Spain” and did press in New York instead, adding:
“This isn’t like a ‘stay away from me’ situation. They were at the Oscars together. They’ll be together this weekend.”
Basically, it isn’t like Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni where they cannot do press, red carpets, or premieres together! Rachel and Gal have appeared at events together, like the Academy Awards and the 2022 D23 Expo. They’ll even be at the El Lay premiere together! So the tension hasn’t reached that level (yet)!
A third source reiterated the pair “have a huge age gap and very different political views” — and won’t be good pals after this! They said:
“Gal is annoyed by the movie drama. She enjoyed filming. She was fine with Rachel but they are not friends. They have nothing in common… They did a job together and that’s it.”
Per the second source, a big issue Gal has with Rachel is the comments she made about how the original Snow White felt “dated” and overall how outspoken she is:
“Gal’s attitude is that you don’t criticize and cause drama for a project you signed on to do. She just doesn’t get it.”
Whether Rachel feels the same way and that Gal “was fine,” who knows! She wouldn’t address any of the controversy surrounding the film when approached by paparazzi at LAX on Friday. According to TMZ, all she said was that “it feels wonderful” for the film to be released next week and booked it out of the airport! She wouldn’t even address the negative press about her and Gal! Yeesh!
